Job summary

Manufacturing Inc in Southbridge, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production through cnc machining, fixture design, and precise QC. You will lead advanced cnc programming and collaborate with toolroom to implement tooling solutions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on cnc Machining, cnc programming, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Expert proficiency in mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAM software.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
  • Proven experience with cmm inspection systems, precision measurement equipment, and quality methodologies.
  • Hands-on fixture design and tooling development experience.
  • Experience collaborating with toolroom personnel to develop, maintain, and refine specialized tooling.
  • Strong project management, analytical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced cnc machining technologies and validated production processes.
  • Develop, optimize, and manage multi-axis cnc programming using Mastercam to support high-precision medical component production.
  • Lead hands-on fixture design and tooling development projects, collaborating with toolroom staff to fabricate robust workholding solutions.
  • Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to establish robust engineering documentation, tight manufacturing tolerances, and inspection standards.
  • Establish advanced metrology workflows and perform CMM inspection to support IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
  • Apply principles of mechanical engineering to troubleshoot technical issues, support supplier technical oversight, and lead Lean manufacturing initiatives.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering and precision cnc Machining to optimize production workflows and implement advanced tooling solutions. You will work closely with our toolroom team on complex fixture design challenges while leading advanced cnc programming initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Competitive Pay: Compensation is determined by candidate experience, education, certifications, and specific job-related skills. $100k-$120k + depending on position and experience and shift.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve as a lead Manufacturing engineer responsible for evaluating and implementing advanced cnc Machining technologies and validated production processes.
  • Develop, optimize, and manage complex multi-axis cnc programming using mastercam to support high-precision medical component production.
  • Lead hands-on fixture design and custom tooling development projects, collaborating directly with our internal toolroom staff to fabricate robust workholding solutions.
  • Apply thorough GD&T standards per ASME Y14.5 to establish robust engineering documentation, tight manufacturing tolerances, and inspection standards.
  • Establish advanced metrology workflows and perform cmm inspection to support complete component validation and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
  • Apply principles of mechanical engineering to troubleshoot technical issues, support supplier technical oversight, and lead Lean manufacturing initiatives.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on cnc Machining, cnc programming, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Expert proficiency in mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent high-end CAM software packages.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge and application per ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Proven track record using cmm inspection systems, precision measurement equipment, and structured quality methodologies.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in fixture design, custom tooling development, and process qualification.
  • Solid experience collaborating with toolroom personnel to develop, maintain, and refine specialized manufacturing tools.
  • Strong project management, analytical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.
Preferred:
  • Medical device manufacturing experience in ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments.
  • Injection molding tooling and mold maintenance expertise.
  • Direct experience with process validation, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and precision bar stock machining.
