Job summary

Trueline Talent's client, a precision manufacturer in the Rochester market, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead on-site in the Fairport, NY area. You will direct a four-person engineering and quality team, stay hands-on with CNC, CAD, and production support, and drive NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's in engineering, strong manufacturing and CNC background, Mastercam and Inventor experience, plus prior leadership.

  • CNC machining or precision manufacturing background.
  • Hands-on Mastercam experience.
  • Hands-on Autodesk Inventor CAD experience.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production support.
  • Experience working directly with machinists and floor personnel.
  • Ability to manage workflow and competing engineering requests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable a four-person engineering and quality team.
  • Manage day-to-day engineering priorities, workflow, and production support requests.
  • Partner with machinists, Manufacturing leadership, and Operations to resolve floor-level issues.
  • Support CNC machining processes, programming, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Use Mastercam for CNC programming and manufacturing support.
  • Use Autodesk Inventor and CAD tools for drawings, design changes, and engineering support.
  • Step into design engineering work when additional support is needed.
  • Support custom product modifications and special applications.
  • Assist with quoting and cost estimating for custom products.
  • Lead and support NPI, prototyping, process development, and engineering changes.
  • Maintain accurate drawings, revisions, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure engineering changes are properly controlled within an ISO-driven environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Strengthen communication between Engineering and the floor.
  • Build clearer priorities and accountability across engineering.
  • Reduce engineering-request backlog and improve turnaround time.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day engineering management for senior leadership focus.

Trueline's client, an established precision manufacturing company with a long history in the Rochester market, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their onsite team in the Fairport, NY area. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced manufacturing engineer who can manage a small engineering and quality team while staying technically involved in CNC processes, production support, design, quoting, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable a four-person engineering and quality team

Must-Haves as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

  • Hands-on Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD experience
  • Prior people-management or engineering leadership experience
  • Ability to remain technically hands-on while leading a team
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production support

Our Client Offers:

  • Base salary of approximately $115,000-$125,000
  • 5% target bonus based on company EBITDA performance
  • Approximate target cash compensation of $131,250 at a $125,000 base and full target bonus attainment
