Job summary

Precise Tool & Manufacturing Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Process Engineer for a full-time, on-site role. The candidate must be local to Rochester with no remote or hybrid options.

You will write manufacturing processes, coordinate with engineering, and monitor job profitability while driving tooling and process improvements. The position requires experience in machining/manufacturing and proficiency with CAD/CAM tools; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Write manufacturing processes and enter in Epicor software. Work with the engineering group on machine processes and tooling.
• Interface with department supervisors and machinists on a regular basis.
• Utilize customer supplied CAD files to process manufacturing plan.
• Utilize CAD to create work holding and fixturing layouts.
• Interface with CNC programmers.
• Notify Tool Crib of upcoming jobs.
• Develop queuing system for kits ready to set up.
• Verify tooling is available for jobs and ensure back-ups are available.
• Coordinate all projects as they progress through the shop.
• Monitor profitability as jobs are running.
• Expedite materials and components to keep jobs on schedule.
• Complete routing for customer jobs.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing to develop tooling and fixturing concepts for new work.
• Update processes during and after production.
• Ensure processes are followed and suggest time-saving methods.

JOB SUMMARY

• Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of manufacturing processes and engineering functions.
• This position is full-time on-site in Rochester, NY. In order for a candidate to be considered they must be local to Rochester, NY. R emote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Write manufacturing processes and enter in Epicor software. Work with the engineering group on machine processes and tooling.

• Update all processes during and after production.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure processes are being followed, and to incorporate time saving methods when suggested.
• Investigate and provide disposition on discrepant/quality issues for jobs assigned.
• Review assigned jobs with department manager at hand-off and when ready to move to the floor.
• Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $29.00 - $43.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
