Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the St. Joseph, MI area. You will lead a tech-driven automotive plant, directing engineering teams, accelerating continuous improvement, and owning new product launches.

You’ll standardize processes, drive KPI-based performance, manage capital projects, and collaborate across functions to ensure on-time delivery and ROI. Local candidates preferred; relocation support offered.

Qualifications

  • Education: Ideally a Bachelor’s degree; experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in a similar manufacturing engineering management role with a strong background in manufacturing/process engineering.
  • Metals Environment: Experience working in metals environments such as stamping, machining, fabrication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Strong background with proven examples of scrap reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Project Management: Experience overseeing timelines and budgets.
  • Product Launches: Experience with product launches.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read blueprints.
  • Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, communicate with, and organize daily priorities for all engineering personnel, including Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
  • Lead and support ongoing process efficiency development, cross-training initiatives, and continual improvement projects, and establish and improve KPIs.
  • Take full ownership of organizing and executing all engineering activities related to new product launches.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for resolving engineering concerns directly on the manufacturing floor.
  • Communicate and collaborate closely with other department managers, suppliers, and external contractors.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, standardized processes, and operating procedures for the engineering staff.
  • Actively monitor and manage department labor utilization percentages to keep projects on track.
  • Apply Lean methods and data-driven problem-solving techniques to keep high-volume automotive engineering projects on schedule.
  • Direct capital equipment projects from conception to execution, including vetting and approving vendors, determining project costs and ROI, and managing advancements in CNC machining, fixtures, and cutting tools.
  • Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to conceptualize project designs and develop specialized production fixtures and cutting tools.
