Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Lincoln, Nebraska facility to lead the Method and Digital Engineering teams and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You will oversee budgets, milestones, and resources while championing Industry 4.0 initiatives and cost-reduction efforts.

The role requires a proactive leadership style, strong people skills, and at least five years in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Business or other relevant discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is required.
  • Must possess excellent analytical/problem solving abilities and good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Management exposure (leading teams and developing individuals).
  • Automation and/or Industry 4.0 acumen will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, cost, product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.
  • Lead the deployment of Company Performance System in the facility.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Lean, and MPH in the factory.
  • Develop, design and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities and mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Determine facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design.
  • Resolve technical problems and recommends production improvements.
  • Drive Industry 4.0 deployment in the company (automation and digitization roadmap).
  • Drive projects and prepare recommendations for executives about significant changes that need to be made to resources, procedures, systems, or technology – drives long term investment plan.
  • Manage the team according to Schneider Electric values and people calendar– all people management aspects.
  • Be able to translate OEE, and productivity into overall product cost.
  • Drive Smart Factory advancement to ensure Lincoln maintains a leadership position in process automation and use of AI in the facility.

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity at our Lincoln Nebraska manufacturing facility. The Lincoln facility is a 250,000+ sq. ft. automated breaker assembly plant with supporting thermoset molding and metal stamping departments. The facility has been designated as one of NAMs Smart Factories of the future. Plans are in place to transition to the next generation of automation & technology. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the team.

What will you do?

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for directing the Method and Digital Engineering team and supporting Maintenance Engineering Team in process improvement and executing on goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth. Deliverables include ensuring milestones, budgets, resources, and technical commitments are met in accordance with expectations of the customer, the operations team, and the business development group. This role requires a proactive leadership style and the abilities to both lead by example and build collaborative teams, while effectively championing initiatives to drive and support continuous improvements of the business and organization.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Business or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (in a manufacturing or industrial environment). High-speed automated assembly, progress metal stamping and thermoset molding is preferred.
  • Strong people skills and the desire to grow teamwork and engagement.
  • 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is required
  • Must possess excellent analytical/problem solving abilities and good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Management exposure (leading teams and developing individuals)
  • Automation and/or Industry 4.0 acumen will be considered a plus
  • PC literacy & Strong digital acumen

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 142,400 - USD 213,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
