Job summary

Composition Brands in Greenville, Michigan seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing engineering activities at our Greenville facility. This hands-on role partners with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Product Development to improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related production environment.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or project-management experience.
• Experience in high-volume assembly, fabrication, or refrigeration manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles, process controls, and production efficiency.
• Hands-on approach with ability to work in a production environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function and coach team members.
• Set priorities and align projects with plant goals and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and process controls.
• Lead new product introductions, engineering changes, pilot builds, and launches.
• Evaluate processes, layouts, labor requirements, and plant efficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase productivity, quality, safety, and reduce costs.
• Conduct time studies, capacity reviews, and staffing decisions.
• Support equipment transitions, installations, validation, and optimization.
• Develop capital equipment plans and lead procurement and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Product Management to ensure uptime.
• Travel approximately 15% between facilities as needed.
