Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineering Leader leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers/Technicians and CNC Programmers to support multiple manufacturing facilities. Responsible for evaluating existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards in the design, application, and development of machinery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and CNC Programmers in supporting multiple Green Bay facilities.
  • Provide direction for manufacturing process development, operational execution, and manufacturing priorities across multiple production areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement through standard work, layout optimization, 7S practices, cross-functional problem solving, and practical execution.
  • Develop plant layouts for manufacturing areas focused on part flow, workflow, efficiency and overall cost effectiveness.
  • Initiate capital equipment investments, prepare cost justifications, and lead the overall implementation of projects.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Management to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments in engineering technology and make recommendations on equipment and systems investments.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop team members while establishing clear performance goals, accountability, and career development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology or a related degree preferred.
  • Five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in engineering or manufacturing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling Software (SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements.
  • Experience managing capital and operational budgets.
  • ERP/MRP experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives that define tools and processes and improve competencies.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that include a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:

This position directly supervises other team members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.
  • Travel by air or car occasionally.
