Job summary

Qualifications

• Part-time or full-time college enrollment, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial engineering with at least a junior level status by Fall of 2027.
• Ability to work full time on-site in Holland, MI from May 2027 to August 2027.
• Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with updating lockout/tagout procedures and support material yield optimization to reduce waste and scrap.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives and conduct compressed air audits.
• Assist with manufacturing process improvements and spend time on the production floor operating equipment with production teams.

We are currently looking for paid Manufacturing Engineering Interns to join our team in Holland, MI. This position will be working onsite at our Wood Plant in Holland, MI.

As a Manufacturing Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of exciting projects including updating lockout/tagout procedures, supporting material yield optimization to reduce waste and scrap, participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives, conducting compressed air audits, and assisting with manufacturing process improvements. You will also spend time on the production floor, including operating equipment and working alongside production teams, to gain a deeper understanding of our manufacturing processes. The work is practical and meaningful, allowing you to take ownership of real projects while learning from experienced engineers and supporting the team as they focus on more complex engineering challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Part-time or full-time college enrollment, working towards a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial engineering with at least a junior level status by Fall of 2027.
• Ability to work full time on-site in Holland, MI from May 2027 to August 2027.
• Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall GPA of 2.95 or higher.
• Prior Haworth experience.
• Extra-curricular activity experience such as athletics, clubs, volunteer work, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Previous Employment experience.Experience with CAD software
• Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) tools or technologies
• Interest in applying technology to improve manufacturing processes

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheet applications, and keyboard skills.
