Job summary

Freeform is seeking an Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Hawthorne, CA. You will help scale production of high‑performance metal 3D printed parts, working with a team across R&D and production to refine tooling, post‑processing, and CNC workflows.

Ideal candidates are smart, collaborative, and eager to learn, with hands‑on manufacturing experience and a passion for solving hard problems in a fast‑paced hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.
• Hands on manufacturing or build experience from internships or engineering clubs such as FSAE, Baja SAE, solar car, rocket club, robotics club, or similar.
• Experience with hand tools, machinery, or complex hardware assembly.

Responsibilities

• Support scalable manufacturing processes for new hardware and printed parts.
• Assist with fixturing, test procedures, and post-processing steps to improve part flow.
• Develop documentation and process standards to support production scaling.
