Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a hands-on engineering intern to join the Manufacturing Team in Atlanta. You will support a range of hardware-focused activities including welding, additive, tube bending, machining, and avionics, helping push rapid prototyping and production readiness.

You will work with engineers and technicians on tooling, processes, and documentation, contribute to safety and quality improvements, and gain exposure to the transition of hardware from development to production.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (3rd/4th year or Masters/PhD).
• Hands-on hardware design, build, test, or manufacturing experience via internships, coursework or projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, testing, CAD, drawings, or GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and process improvements focusing on safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Partner with engineers and technicians to support hardware build, integration, and production activities.
• Assist with root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and manufacturing issues.
• Help evaluate designs for manufacturability, testability, and production readiness.
• Support development and improvement of tooling, assembly processes, and test procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to reduce build time, improve quality, and eliminate waste.
• Assist with troubleshooting non-conforming hardware and documenting findings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and BOMs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition hardware from development into production.
