Job summary

Columbus McKinnon Corporation is seeking a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering student for a manufacturing internship in Wisconsin. You will support continuous improvement, cost, quality and delivery initiatives while helping launch components for new models and solving daily production issues.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering using CAD tools, data collection, and collaboration across departments to improve processes and safety.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree (junior or senior).
Two years of mechanical or industrial engineering coursework completed.
GPA 2.8 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

Revising and updating standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Creating new process documentation, time studies, and work standards.
Drafting cell layout.
Assists with mechanical design improvements for assembly and machining processes utilizing CAD software.
Conducting machine capability studies.
Testing of process and tooling changes.
Assist operators in identifying and resolving process issues.
Investigating and resolving quality issues.
Collecting quality and process data.
Completing ergonomic assessments.
Operation of modern manufacturing plant.
Understanding of machining or assembly operation.
Principles of continuous improvement.
Interaction with multiple departments (manufacturing, purchasing, quality, shipping, etc).
