Job summary

First Solar is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Internship in the United States to gain experience with high-volume solar panel manufacturing equipment and processes. The intern will work with a cross-functional team to monitor, analyze daily production performance, solve problems, and contribute to safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Typically Monday–Friday, 8a-5p in the manufacturing plant. High school diploma or GED required; pursuing a technical bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Pursuing at least a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
Encouraged to register internship with college or university.

Responsibilities

Assist manufacturing technicians, engineers and leadership.
Solve day-to-day production equipment and process challenges.
Identify and implement product performance improvements.
Monitor and collect production process data and perform statistical analysis.
Execute planned process experiments and report results.
Create and conduct training on the production floor.
Develop or update process work instructions and control plans.
Maintain communication with cross functional teams.
Interface with internal associates, supplier representatives, and education institutions as required.
Adhere to safety procedures and environmental health standards.
