Dover Food Retail (DFR), part of Dover Corporation, is hiring an Intern, Manufacturing Engineering for its Richmond, VA facility. You will support multiple engineering disciplines, work on new production line projects, and help implement our Operational Excellence model.

• Enrollment in 4-year Engineering degree program (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Rising Junior to rising Senior progressing toward a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with logical reasoning.
• Effective statistical analysis skills.
• Strong written and oral communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• You will be guided by structural goals and objectives and will have a responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects.
• Your manager will offer coaching, mentoring, and direction.
• You will be assigned to a technical project in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Work on implementation of new production lines and lean/operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop layout and process documentation and training materials for new operations.

Responsibilities

• You will be guided by structural goals and objectives and will have a responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects.
• Your manager will offer coaching, mentoring, and direction.
• You will be assigned to a technical project in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• This Manufacturing Engineering intern will work on the implementation of new production lines, sub-assembly stations and the implementation of our Operational Excellence model across the facility (production and/or stockroom/shipping).
• Tasks will involve layout and process development, documentation of standard work and training materials for new operations.
• On the operational excellence side, tasks will involve implementing a tiered accountability system and developing a standard problem-solving process for our facility.
• This work could spread into various operational efficiency projects for products of strategic importance.
• Projects will be evaluated on accuracy and the ability to meet milestone due dates.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in 4-year Engineering degree program
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Rising Junior to rising Senior Level progressing towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial
