Job summary

• Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Availability to work on-site at least four days per week.

**Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op (January – June 2027)** **What you will do:** Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to support the optimization of manufacturing processes and the development of a robust asset management program. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve equipment performance, process efficiency, quality, and safety. You will gain hands-on experience supporting production operations, equipment implementation, process improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement projects while developing valuable technical and professional skills. **How you will do it:** * Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of standard work instructions, work orders, and manufacturing process documentation.* Assist with root cause analysis investigations and corrective action implementation for process and equipment issues.* Support the build, installation, qualification, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and tooling.* Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations.* Design, build, and operate test fixtures to support manufacturing and engineering objectives.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, and optimize production processes.* Assist in collecting and analyzing manufacturing data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.* Support asset management activities to improve equipment reliability, utilization, and performance.* Document findings, process changes, and project results clearly and effectively.* Demonstrate Johnson Controls' Winning Behaviors by focusing on impactful work, collaborating effectively, taking ownership of assigned projects, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. **Required Qualifications:** * Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.* Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and complete assignments efficiently and effectively.* Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.* Strong communication skills with the ability to document technical processes and procedures clearly.* Experience with CAD software, with SolidWorks preferred.* Ability to work on-site at least four days per week.* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Previous co-op, internship, or industry experience.* Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes or previous experience in a manufacturing environment.* Experience with data analysis tools.* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.* Experience with inventory management systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).* Interest in process optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. **Why Join Us?** At Johnson Controls, you'll gain meaningful hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment where your work contributes directly to improving production processes, equipment performance, safety, and quality.
