Responsibilities

  • Support standard work instructions, work orders, and process documentation.
  • Assist with root cause analysis investigations and corrective actions for process and equipment issues.
  • Support building, installation, qualification, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency across operations.
  • Design, build, and operate test fixtures to support objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, and optimize production processes.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing manufacturing data to identify trends and support improvements.
  • Support asset management activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Document findings, process changes, and project results clearly.

Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op (January – June 2027)

What you will do:

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to support the optimization of manufacturing processes and the development of a robust asset management program. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve equipment performance, process efficiency, quality, and safety. You will gain hands‑on experience supporting production operations, equipment implementation, process improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement projects while developing valuable technical and professional skills.


How you will do it:

  • Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of standard work instructions, work orders, and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Assist with root cause analysis investigations and corrective action implementation for process and equipment issues.
  • Support the build, installation, qualification, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations.
  • Design, build, and operate test fixtures to support manufacturing and engineering objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Interest in process optimization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
