Job summary

Prysmian in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes, reduce waste, and boost quality across plastics and polymers production. You will drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives and lead New Product Introductions to ensure smooth launches.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable gains in efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction while supporting operator training and SOP development.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience preferably in plastics or polymers.
• Six Sigma or Lean experience.
• Experience in New Product Introduction/Launch.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Collaborate with production staff to identify and implement effective manufacturing methods and technologies.
• Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment setups for stable production.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
• Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques into the organization.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Provide hands-on technical support for daily production issues, including troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
• Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on production goals.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support operator training by developing clear work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control methods.
