Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Weekend Shift Manufacturing Engineer (Entry Level) to join our team in Mt Vernon, IN.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for programs, develop recovery plans, review contract and design requirements, and collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to manage changes and prepare person-hour estimates. Training starts on the day shift before transitioning to a 12-hour weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• BQ – Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear or Manufacturing Engineering Technology; or Physics)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is required.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to train on first shift
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with SAP are preferred

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Weekend Shift Manufacturing Engineer (Entry Level) to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will act as the primary point of contact and coordinator for our programs, leveraging your expertise to develop comprehensive recovery plans for a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed reviews of contract and design requirements to ensure the acceptance of quality notifications, actively tracking project schedules and deliverables, and collaborating closely with the Unit Manager to optimize contract performance metrics. Your experience will be beneficial as you interface with both Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to effectively manage changes to component designs and support quotes for new work by reviewing technical requirements and preparing precise person-hour estimates. This position also offers the opportunity to take on special assignments as deemed necessary, making it an excellent opportunity to further enhance your engineering career in a collaborative environment. This position is on weekend shift. The job will start with training on day shift and then transition to a 3-day weekend schedule (12-hour shifts), Friday through Sunday. The pay will be for forty hours, three days per week.

Your Day to Day as Manufacturing Engineer:

Required Qualifications:

• BQ – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Nuclear or Manufacturing Engineering Technology; or Physics
• Preferred Qualification “PQ” – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Civil Engineering
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is required.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to train on first shift

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience providing engineering support in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Familiarity with SAP preferred

Pay: $65,000- $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
