Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for our Mount Vernon, Indiana site. You will coordinate programs, develop recovery plans, and review design requirements to ensure quality notifications are accepted.

You will track project schedules, interface with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, and assist in preparing estimates for new work. This role offers exposure to diverse projects, with opportunities to grow in a collaborative, mission-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Two or more years engineering experience required.
• Ability to obtain DOE security clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Preferred: experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Preferred: MS Office proficiency and familiarity with SAP.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will act as the primary point of contact and coordinator for our programs, leveraging your expertise to develop comprehensive recovery plans for a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed reviews of contract and design requirements to ensure the acceptance of quality notifications, actively tracking project schedules and deliverables, and collaborating closely with the Unit Manager to optimize contract performance metrics. Your experience will be beneficial as you interface with both Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to effectively manage changes to component designs and support quotes for new work by reviewing technical requirements and preparing precise person-hour estimates. Your Day To Day As a Manufacturing Engineer

• Serve as the primary point of contact/coordinator for the program

Required Qualifications

• BQ – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Nuclear or Manufacturing Engineering Technology; or Physics
• Preferred Qualification “PQ” – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Civil Engineering
• Two or more years engineering experience required
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is required.
• US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience providing engineering support in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Familiarity with SAP preferred

Pay: $79,000 - $119,000

The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $79,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
