Job summary

Magna International in Moonville, SC is seeking a manufacturing specialist to support BIW processes and engineering standards. The role involves applying statistical methods to optimize production, coordinating quality objectives and collaborating with vendors and staff to ensure tooling, welding and sealer applications meet specs.

You will draft layouts for efficient manufacturing spaces, review schedules, and communicate with management to develop standards and cost estimates for design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 10 years automotive experience.
• Experience with die/die process, assembly tooling, welding & sealer applications.
• Strong computer skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word.

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical methods and perform calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staffing and production standards.
• Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
• Confer with vendors, staff and management on purchases, procedures, product specs and project status.
• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
• Review production schedules, engineering specs and orders to understand methods and activities.
• Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
• Estimate production cost and impact of design changes for management review.
