Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis seeks a Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing (MEP) for Supplier Designed Components. You will lead external supply chain manufacturing activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets, working in a cross-functional team focused on manufacturability and supplier readiness.

The role requires an engineering degree with 2+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, quality or purchasing, or 4+ years without a degree.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 4+ years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, OR Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years, OR Master’s in Engineering/Technology/Business, OR JD/PhD in Engineering/Technology/Business, OR 6+ years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing input to design engineering to assure component designs are producible.
• Represent manufacturing perspective on component sourcing strategy.
• Work with Procurement & Quality to stand up new suppliers.
• Develop supplier manufacturing readiness and risk assessments.
• Support suppliers with respect to quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP).
• Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections.
