Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a meticulous Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement advanced manufacturing processes for Rotary and Mission Systems. The role emphasizes Lean practices, DFМ concepts, and collaboration with design teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability in defense systems.

Responsibilities

THE WORK

• Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
• Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions.
• Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.
• Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.
• Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement.
• Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Awarded Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
• 10 or more years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a defense industry production environment developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes
• 10 or more years of hands-on experience with manufacturing and building hardware from engineering design products
• Must have the ability to analyze electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
• Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Expert problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience coaching and providing technical guidance to early career engineers
• Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts
• Implements manufacturing processes for training systems and test equipment
• Apply knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques and implement process improvements
• Multitask in support of multiple concurrent programs and initiatives
• Advance experience with Project/Product cost estimation

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of SAP, including Apriso and MPMLink, (QNotes, Routings, Bills of material) or a related manufacturing system
• Knowledge of Creo and Zuken
• Experience identifying, designing, and implementing custom tooling/jigs/fixtures for hardware manufacturing
• Experience with P2P BOM configurator for proposals
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements evolving while design maturity is increasing
• Excellent verbal/written communications skills
• Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results
• Detail-oriented due to the nature of electrical & electromechanical assemblies

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
