Job summary

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company York facility is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/Shift Supervisor to provide technical support for welding and fabrication processes and to lead shift operations. You will drive improvements, quality and cost reduction while supporting safety on the shop floor.

This 3rd shift dual role combines engineering expertise with supervisory responsibilities, interfacing with engineering, quality and production teams to ensure on-time delivery and sustained process

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Strong Supervisor/Leadership experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Preferred.
• Welding experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, quality controls, tooling, fixturing, gaging.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, guidance and training in development of new processes and resolution of manufacturing problems.
• Collaborate with product engineering to design parts for manufacturability.
• Serve as a technical resource in welding, laser welding, and robotic polishing.
• Oversee hourly and union employees on shift.
• Deliver productivity improvements to reduce total manufacturing cycle time.
• Reduce costs through tooling and process improvements.
• Ensure processes meet Harley-Davidson standards for quality, ergonomics and safety.
