Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support operations in North Charleston, SC on a 6-month contract. You will evaluate production processes, improve efficiency, and develop floor layouts using AutoCAD and Excel data analysis.

The role requires 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial preferred), and hands-on ability with process optimization and time studies. Onsite schedule Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 5–7 years of manufacturing/plant engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience evaluating production processes and equipment utilization.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for facility layouts.
• Knowledge of time studies, cycle-time analysis, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct time and motion studies to set standard production rates.
• Evaluate workstations, processes, equipment utilization, and workflow.
• Develop and update manufacturing floor layouts and material flow.
• Analyze production data using Excel and other engineering software.
• Use 3D simulation software to evaluate processes.
• Prepare charts and reports illustrating workflow and machine utilization.
• Review drawings and technical docs to support operations.
• Evaluate production standards and identify bottlenecks.
• Observe floor activities to assess methods and quality adherence.
