Applied Engineering, Inc. in Cypress, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Power & Transformer Systems to lead transfer and setup of transformer-related production.
You will install, validate, and launch manufacturing processes, work with suppliers, and apply lean tools to improve quality and throughput while supporting documentation and training. This role requires 5+ years in manufacturing engineering and transformer experience, with English/Spanish bilingual capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Prior transformer manufacturing or transformer product experience required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish required.
- Experience with equipment installation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong lean manufacturing knowledge and hands-on application.
- Ability to travel to sending facilities for knowledge transfer.
- Experience developing manufacturing documentation and training content.
- Epicor experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the transfer of transformer-related product lines into the Houston facility.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of equipment required for transformer manufacturing.
- Lead or support product validation, testing, and launch readiness activities.
- Ensure documentation, work instructions, and process controls are complete and accurate.
- Troubleshoot transformer-specific assembly, testing, and production issues.
- Train production teams on new processes, equipment, and product requirements.
- Participate in knowledge-transfer visits to current production sites and support launch activities.
- Apply lean manufacturing tools to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Provide post-launch support to stabilize production and resolve early-stage issues.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners.
- Contribute to projects that impact communities in Klein, Aldine, Waller, and the greater Cypress metro.

Engineer I: $72,000 - $84,000
Engineer II: $80,000 - $92,000
Engineer III: $90,000 - $102,000
Senior Engineer: $97,000 - $112,000
Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. These roles are paid hourly and include paid overtime when applicable.
