Job summary

Octagon Group in Dallas, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own the full NPI lifecycle and define robust production processes from concept to release. You will design layouts, tooling, and workflows to scale manufacturing for electrical products, while driving continuous improvements on the factory floor.

The role requires hands‑on experience in electrical or electromechanical manufacturing, with a strong Lean background and familiarity with UL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a hands‑on environment.
• Strong background in electrical or electromechanical manufacturing.
• Ability to read schematics and understand wiring, terminations, and components.
• Proven experience with NPI, DFM, facility layout, and capital equipment planning.
• Practical Lean manufacturing experience (value stream mapping, flow optimisation).
• Experience with UL standards (UL508A, UL67, UL891) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own the full NPI lifecycle from concept through production release, ensuring manufacturability at every stage.
• Develop and implement complete production processes including routing, tooling, and validation.
• Design and optimise facility layouts, workstations, and production flow within the Dallas, Texas site.
• Identify, justify, and implement capital equipment investments with clear ROI.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
• Lead root cause analysis and hands‑on problem‑solving on the production floor.
