Job summary

Advanced Atomization Technologies, Clyde, NY, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to support value streams and drive continuous improvement. The role focuses on process development, documentation, and maintaining health of manufacturing lines.

The candidate should have a BS in Manufacturing Engineering (or related field), GD&T knowledge, CAD skills (CREO/Unigraphics), and strong communication abilities; exposure to Lean, Six Sigma and safety practices is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and process capability theory.
  • CAD modeling and drafting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support value streams to improve operational excellence.
  • Contribute to High-Performance Value Stream metrics.
  • Assist in process development, documentation, and support.
  • Help ensure health of the value stream (MSS, MDR, TPM).
  • Support inventory management and analysis.
  • Participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement activities.

Position Summary:


A Professional Band 1 – Manufacturing Engineering is an experienced manufacturing engineer (approximately 2-4 years engineering experience) that will participate in the technical achievement in the various value streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supporting the operational excellence and success of the various value streams which will come from continuous improvement efforts, maintaining Value Stream health, and establishing strong working relationships with teammates, engineering leadership and operational leadership.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Participation in the Technical Support for assigned value stream

    1. Participates in the achievement of the High-Performance Value Stream metrics and initiatives

    2. Participates in the execution of the Strategy Deployment initiative

    3. Participates in process development, documentation, and support

    4. Participates in the assurance of the health of the value stream (FTY, scrap, MDR Onset, TPM)

    5. Inventory management support (MSS, Solumina, Comp Cards)

    6. Problem Solving (RCCA, PDCA, Shainin, etc)

    7. Operational training support



  • Participation in the Technical Compliance for assigned value stream

    1. AS13100 Support and Execution

    2. Process / Product Correlation

    3. Process Engineering Change Order process

    4. Metallurgical qualification and compliance (ES6-26 process)

    5. Returned Goods process



  • Participation in the Technical support for Lean / Continuous Improvement

    1. Value Stream Mapping

    2. Process Capability Analysis

    3. Process Optimization Data Analysis

    4. Process Mistake Proofing (Identification and implementation)



  • Participation in the Technical support for Environmental Health and Safety

    1. Facilitate and support the performing of ergonomic assessments on processes

    2. Facilitate, lead, and support the implementation of ergonomic improvement projects

    3. Ownership of machine safety for all equipment within the value stream



  • Value Stream Strategy Deployment

    1. Technical support of the long-term strategy

    2. Technical support of the short term AOP Project Identification

    3. Technical support of the Annual SD Project Execution



  • Talent Development execution for team members (Mfg Eng Techs, Mfg Eng I, Mfg Eng II)

    1. Facilitation of training opportunities and direction

    2. Mentoring technical resources for assigned value stream

    3. Mentoring technical resources for the engineering team




Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field.

  • 2+ years engineering experience or equivalent in a manufacturing environment

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, principles and concepts

  • Basic knowledge of lean principles for manufacturing

  • Basic knowledge of quality principles for manufacturing

  • Read and understand GD&T requirements of product drawings

  • Understand process capability theory

  • Familiarity with joining processes (braze, weld, etc.)

  • CAD modeling and drafting experience

  • Basic blueprint reading and interpretation

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of the organization

  • Effective communication skills: verbal and written

  • Ability to function in a team environment

  • Ability to use Microsoft software programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Experience working with supply chain

  • Minitab or equivalent stat software

  • CREO and/or Unigraphics modeling software experience

  • Six Sigma experience or certification
