What You’ll Work On

• The primary function of the Manufacturing Engineer is to manage and lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs in such a manner as to promote a safe, efficient operation in which quality product is manufactured.
• Manage capital projects from conception to completion, using the request for capital expenditure (RCE) process. The position also directly impacts product quality in the production operations.
• Review Production Metrics, evaluate root cause and suggest appropriate actions to reduce downtimes on production lines.
• Provide a centralized, strategic look across equipment performance (downtime), material/component failure analysis, and changeovers.
• Facilitate root cause analysis for equipment downtime.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or any associated field-related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired2-3 years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.

• Additional post-graduate education may contribute towards the desired years of experience.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal required.

• Strong technical and leadership skills required. These communications, technical and leadership skills are required due to the high degree of interaction with many levels and areas of technical matters and motivational needs of the department.
