Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 125k/year - Shelton, CT

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Shelton, CT. This position focuses on developing, implementing, and improving CNC machining and manual manufacturing processes to support production efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will work with production equipment, machining operations, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systems to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve production performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize CNC machining and manual manufacturing processes, including machining operations, tooling, fixtures, and production workflows.
• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, equipment, and production planning methods to improve cycle times, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve machining accuracy, production efficiency, and workplace safety.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, equipment improvements, scrap reduction, and resource utilization.
• Analyze production data, manufacturing performance metrics, and machining processes to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve manufacturing productivity.
• Evaluate manufacturing technologies, CNC machining equipment, and production methods to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flowcharts, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and machining process documentation.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve manufacturing issues, improve machining processes, and support production requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to support material availability, manufacturing equipment requirements, quality standards, and production schedules.
• Evaluate supplier performance, address quality and delivery issues, and support supplier audits and corrective action initiatives.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation comply with ISO 9001: 2015 quality management requirements and applicable environmental, health, and safety standards.
• Investigate manufacturing defects, machining quality issues, scrap, and rework to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’ s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent education or experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a CNC machining manufacturing environment, including manufacturing engineering and CNC machining process support.
• Working knowledge of CNC and manual manufacturing machinery, machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and production-related manufacturing software.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and manufacturing quality management processes.
