The Fabcon Production Engineering Manager will lead all manufacturing and production engineering activities, work order implementation, router creation and development. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership, outstanding people skills and management to a team of production and manufacturing engineers, production programmers / planners. This function will also lead manufacturing engineering projects, as well as the implementation and management of continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

Responsibilities:

* Create and develop manufacturing routers for the implementation of work order.

* Manage the creation of production drawings to facilitate the fabrication of products.

* Lead manufacturing engineering initiatives.

* Review, develop and propose improvements through increased effectiveness, efficiency and added value. Reducing waste. Eliminating unplanned downtime.

* Interface with sales as required in the support of existing and new opportunities related to the manufacturability of products.

* Manage, control and develop employees (absence, performance, management, grievances, health & safety).

Requirements:

* A bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

* 10+ years experience in leading a team of engineers, technical professionals, particularly in a production/process facility.

* Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication concepts and machinery

* Experience of implementing continuous improvement programmes and projects;

* Excellent written, verbal, communication and organisational skills;

* Knowledge of ERP systems (Global shop a plus)

* Excellent organizational skills, including planning of labor and processes.

* Experience lean (Six Sigma) implementation of lean manufacturing systems. (desirable);

* Ability to listen to and influence peer group and department team members to build and lead effective working teams.
