Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing.
  • Support the development and evaluation of engineering standards and specs.
  • Inspect work and recommend actions to meet specs and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify shortcomings and implement improvements through change management.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external resources per project plans.
  • Support product development by analyzing customer needs and delivering manufacturing solutions.
  • Manage assigned engineering activities within project plans.
  • Provide technical support for engineering systems.

Title: Manufacturing Engineer Fabrication

Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Duration: 12 months

Type – W2 contract (No C2C)

1st shift 6- 2:30 PM OT hours needed if requested. Metatarsal safety boots are required on their first day.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Manufacturing Engineer II located in Dubuque, IA, you will plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining, sheet metal, and tool design processes. You will work in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and engineering solutions that meet established safety, quality, cost, and project requirements.

  • Analyze manufacturing information and define the methods, process steps, machinery, tooling, and equipment needed to support production
  • Design and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to achieve cost and quality objectives
  • Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing to support solution development and validation
  • Support the development, application, and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications
  • Inspect engineering work, equipment, installations, or structures and recommend corrective actions needed to meet specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures and implement improvements through established change management processes
  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, subcontractors, and other external resources in accordance with established project and contract management plans
  • Support product development and engineering activities by analyzing customer needs and delivering appropriate manufacturing solutions
  • Manage assigned engineering activities within established project plans, schedules, and goals
  • Provide technical support and guidance to help others effectively use engineering and knowledge management systems

SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS

  • Manufacturing engineering experience involving machining, sheet metal fabrication, tooling, equipment, or related manufacturing processes
  • Ability to develop, implement, test, and improve engineering designs and manufacturing solutions
  • Experience preparing and applying technical engineering specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret complex or conflicting information
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work within an established project schedule
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with different audiences
  • Ability to make timely decisions and remain accountable for commitments
  • Knowledge of safe work systems, applicable policies, regulations, and risk-management practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams, suppliers, contractors, and other engineering functions

Education

  • Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Equivalent manufacturing engineering education, training, and relevant professional experience
