Scope and Decision Rights
- Own assigned processes, analyses, documentation, tooling, readiness activities, and improvement deliverables within approved standards.
- Identify and escalation missing requirements, design conflicts, safety issues, schedule risk, and resource constraints early.
- Recommend controlled product, tooling, layout, process, and work-instruction changes for approval.
- Lead assigned DFM/DFA, process, tooling, PFMEA, readiness, root-cause, and capital reviews and mentor Levels 1 and 2.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop process flows, work-cell layouts, station content, standard work, visual work instructions, and training support.
- Perform time studies, labor analysis, capacity calculations, bottleneck reviews, line balancing, and productivity analysis.
- Design or coordinate tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, material presentation, handling aids, and ergonomic improvements.
- Participate in DFM/DFA reviews, PFMEA, control-plan development, pilot builds, process trials, readiness reviews, and ramp-up support.
- Analyze safety, quality, rework, scrap, downtime, labor, material‑flow, and delivery data and implement controlled improvements.
- Support capital equipment justification, specifications, supplier reviews, installation, validation, and handoff.
- Maintain project plans, technical records, layouts, analyses, action logs, and benefit reporting.
Working Interfaces
- Advanced Manufacturing: manufacturing strategy, production priorities, labor model, facility flow, capital priorities, and performance expectations.
- Product Design & Engineering: product definition, models, drawings, BOMs, specifications, design changes, DFM/DFA feedback, and release readiness.
- Automation & Electrical Systems: controls/electrical requirements, Panel Shop and Electrical Integration interfaces, automation opportunities, test needs, and equipment readiness.
- Production and Fabrication: process observation, standard work, work-center layout, capacity, labor standards, tooling, training, quality feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Product Management and Project Management: requirements, volume assumptions, delivery commitments, cost targets, schedule, change impacts, and product priorities.
- Safety & Quality: risk assessment, ergonomics, regulatory and quality requirements, inspection points, NCR/CAPA, validation of process changes, and safe work methods.

Required Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Typically 7–10 years of manufacturing, industrial, process, operations engineering, internship, co‑op, or related experience.
- Hands‑on fabricated or assembled product experience is preferred.

- Production risks are raised early and issues are resolved through controlled action.

Physical and Work Requirements
- Regular presence throughout manufacturing and production areas.
- Prolonged computer, CAD/layout, analysis, document, and planning work.
- Frequent walking, observation, measurement, trials, and interaction around industrial equipment.
- Travel to suppliers, customers, other operating companies, and manufacturing sites as required.
- Compliance with PPE, lockout/tagout, fall protection, electrical safety, and site requirements.
