Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes and drive efficiency across our manufacturing operations. You will partner with Engineering, Production, Safety, and Supply Chain to implement improvements that enhance manufacturability, quality, and safety.

You will design layouts, lead Kaizen efforts, and develop work instructions while supporting capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience; Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with process improvement, quality systems, PPAP, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Design and optimize production layouts, equipment, and workflows to maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new products are designed for efficient manufacturing.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.
• Develop manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and training materials for production teams.
• Evaluate manufacturing equipment, recommend capital improvements, and support equipment implementation and maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, and Innovation teams to achieve production goals.
