Job summary

Chart Industries in Theodore, AL is seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer to plan and optimize production systems on the plant floor. You will drive Lean initiatives, standardize processes and coordinate cross-department communication for new product introductions and changes.

The role requires hands-on involvement with welding and fabrication, fixture design, and managing multiple capital equipment projects to meet deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical or industrial engineering.
• Engineering experience must include welding and fabrication processes.
• Understanding of factory metrics and Lean; Six Sigma a plus.
• Proficiency in ASME Code standards.
• Experience designing assembly and welding fixtures for manufacturing.
• Experience managing several projects concurrently and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures to enhance manufacturing production.
• Conduct cause and effect studies and implement corrective measures.
• Assess production processes to improve product consistency and standardize work procedures and flow.
• Implement Lean concepts throughout the plant (5S, Visual Work, Kanban).
• Create and manage technical training programs for production employees.
• Coordinate communication of new product introductions and changes to stakeholders.
• Manage capital equipment projects to identify improvements and ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Other duties as assigned.
