Job summary

Great Western Manufacturing in Leavenworth, Kansas, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

In this role, you will partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement, implement effective methods, and ensure processes meet industry standards while supporting new product introductions and production startups.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Proficiency with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and production systems.
Analyze workflows, equipment, labor utilization, and material flow to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to support new products and production startup.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles to drive operational excellence.
