Job summary

Ferco Aerospace seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, optimize throughput, and ensure process data integrity. The role champions lean methodologies across the manufacturing cycle and coordinates changes for new product introductions, working with engineers and other departments to optimize resources and schedule adherence.

The position is onsite in Greenwood, Indiana, requiring hands-on process design, workstation layouts, 5S, and adherence to

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. or equivalent; entry level considered.
• Background in manufacturing processes preferred.
• Experience with estimating processes and documentation helpful.
• CAD software experience (Unigraphics preferred).
• Aerospace experience is a plus.
• Background in statistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works with customer or company released drawings and CAD models to develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes.
• Develops and documents the manufacturing process in detail with emphasis on training and standardization.
• Designs workstation layouts with emphasis on ergonomics, flow, 5S, and zero-defect policies.
• Collaborates with Materials to determine inventory requirements and replenishment methods.
• Identifies tooling needs and coordinates tooling/fixture production.
• Troubleshoots production issues and implements corrective actions.
• Generates and maintains operational targets/standards and applicable documentation.
