Job summary

Modine is a long-standing global leader in thermal management with a strong Minnesota presence through CDI Manufacturing. We seek a process-focused engineer to develop and improve complex manufacturing processes, create robust work instructions, and train teams across Manufacturing and Product Development.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement using DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, and design-for-manufacturability principles to reduce costs and elevate product quality.

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. or equivalent with coursework in industrial/manufacturing engineering; masters desirable.
• Minimum of three years related experience and/or training.
• Strong training and experience in modern manufacturing techniques: Lean, 5S, Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the DMAIC process and Lean Six Sigma tools for continuous improvement.
• Develops detailed Work Instructions for manufacturing processes and product assembly.
• Trains personnel in the use of Work Instructions and supports manufacturing operations.
• Liaises between Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Development throughout all phases.
• Supports cost reduction efforts with Product Development, Quality, Warranty, Materials and Accounting teams.
• Leads cost-reduction initiatives and evaluates alternative manufacturing practices.
• Selects materials, processes and design alternatives with cross-functional teams.
• Ensures CDI Manufacturing Standards and Best Practices are followed; prepares ECO actions.
