Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Stafford, TX facility and lead efforts to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. You will analyze workforce utilization, plan layouts, and collaborate with vendors to optimize equipment and processes for maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities include cost estimation, applying statistical methods, writing equipment specs, overseeing installations, and delivering training on safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or any related engineering field.
• Knowledge of cutting tools and their applications.
• Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standard.
• Estimate production items, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
• Develop and write equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.
• Prepare detailed quotations for fixture, tool, and engineering requirements to be used in developing a formal quote for customer.
• Oversee installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning.
• Develop and conduct training programs on the safe operations of the equipment, and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
• Design complex tools and fixtures.
