Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve processes across discrete manufacturing environments. You will lead Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, optimize PLC/CNC controls, and integrate CAD/CAM with SAP systems to support on-time delivery and product quality.

The role spans office and shop floor settings, requiring collaboration with Safety, Quality, Sales, Design Engineering, and Production teams. Certifications such as Lean Sigma Black Belt and PMP are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in discrete manufacturing.
• Lean continuous improvement in high-mix, low-volume, make-to-order environments.
• PLC and CNC programming for machine control.
• CAD/CAM and MS software products.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, welding, pipe brazing, powder coating, wiring, and assembly processes.
• Competency with SAP manufacturing software.
• EH&S and IT knowledge.
• Knowledge of ISO quality systems and requirements.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand English instructions.
• Ability to sit, stand, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, talk, and hear.
• Ability to walk frequently.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Lean Sigma Black Belt, PMP Certification, and ASQ QE Certification are listed under certificates, licenses, and registrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, continuously improve, and document manufacturing processes and methods.
• Proactively support manufacturing operations to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Interface with Safety, Quality, Sales, Design Engineering, and Production teams.
• Ensure manufacturing processes support customer on-time delivery and satisfaction.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to eliminate waste and reduce process variation.
• Improve on-time delivery, reduce lead time, and reduce manufacturing, office, and field-service process costs.
• Lead projects introducing new products, processes, and technologies throughout manufacturing operations.
• Work in both office and manufacturing environments.
