Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for on-site support in Euclid, Ohio.

You will assist process engineering tasks, develop step-by-step manufacturing plans for control rod drive mechanisms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and cost targets. The role requires enrollment in a BS program in Mechanical Engineering or ME Technology and familiarity with drawings and tolerancing.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Basic familiarity with engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
Strong communications skills, and ability to work with multiple disciplines in support of manufacturing production hardware.
Microsoft Office, SAP, TopSolid, Siemens NX, Vericut, and CrashGuard Studio experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Adhere to contract technical requirements while developing step-by-step process plans for Control Rod Drive Mechanisms.
Monitor manufacturing processes and implement improvements to ensure safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
Generate SAP routings based on step-by-step process plans.
Assist in developing CAD drawings detailing process plans, fixturing, tooling, and setup instructions.
Assist in designing tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing methods.
Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.
Propose and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, delivery or cost.
Perform other engineering tasks as required.
