Job summary

Brazeway in Shelbyville, Indiana, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience applying engineering and manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost across Brazeway processes.

You will work with our R&D and operations teams on process optimization, machine tooling design, and cost analyses while developing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design manufacturing processes and assist with new machines and tooling.
• Participate in development programs with R&D and external partners.
• Provide technical support to account managers.

Our facility is located in Shelbyville, Indiana. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Indianapolis area. The Job Responsibilities Include

• Applies appropriate engineering and manufacturing technology to develop/improve existing processes in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost for Brazeway and its customers.
• Applies basic engineering principles and analyses to improve processes or solve manufacturing problems by reducing cost, improving quality, and/or capability
• Designs manufacturing processes that meet customer product, delivery, and cost requirements. Designs or manages the design of new machines and tooling. Manages or participates as a key AQP Team Member in the concept to delivery cycle -- Design, analyze, budget, prototypes and samples, purchase and build equipment, machine acceptance, train, implement and improve
• Identifies, establishes, and manages development programs that bring new ideas and technologies to practical application in production. This will include working with members of our R & D team as well as with outside organizations
• Provides technical support to account managers
• May manage liaison activities with Brazeway’s partners
• Prepare engineering and cost analyses for process improvement

What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Degree
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• A strong work ethic and a strong commitment to a team environment
• Self-Motivated Student with coursework completed or strong interest in manufacturing processes
• Ability to draw conclusions along with create reports and presentations - technical thinking ability
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Products - Excel, Power Point and Word
