Crane Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support production on the shop floor, perform daily troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analysis to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient operations. The role involves designing tooling and process changes, managing cost-reduction projects from ideation to implementation, and coordinating capital equipment as needed.

The successful candidate will work on process improvements, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• In progress of obtaining B.S. in Engineering or related degree.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.
• Data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
• Working experience with Autodesk Inventor Professional.

• Develops and maintains routings, tool lists, fixtures, process instructions and process requirements, for manufacturing equipment and operations.

Position Summary

Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting production through daily trouble shooting and root cause analysis to ensure processes are safe, meet quality and throughput requirements and making the work easier for the operators. This requires hands on involvement and working on the shop floor. In addition to this support, they will be responsible for design and implementation of tooling and/or process changes to improve manufacturing processes. They will also own larger cost reduction projects from ideation, feasibility and design, Capital Expenditure approval, and implementation.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• In process of obtaining B.S. in Engineering or related degree.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Exposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.
• Proficient with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Demonstrated ability to understand process & product specifications.
• Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
• Working experience with Autodesk Inventor Professional

Salary range: $25.00 hourly. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
