Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III in Lone Tree, CO. The role focuses on leading DFM/DFA initiatives, designing and deploying advanced tooling, and driving manufacturing improvements for complex aerospace systems.

You will mentor engineers, lead cross-functional reviews, and oversee tooling from inception to production while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Advanced CAD and process documentation experience.
• Experience with CAE tools and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional reviews.
• Security clearance: active Secret U.S. clearance required.
• Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt preferred; aerospace/defense background advantageous.

IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.**Responsibilities:*** Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes.* Lead cross-functional design reviews and DFM/DFA workshops to ensure product architecture is fully optimized for manufacturing and assembly.* Oversee the entire lifecycle of complex tooling, from initial concept and design to fabrication, validation, and implementation on the production floor.* Analyze and resolve complex manufacturing issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.* Mentor junior engineers on best practices in tooling design, process validation, and manufacturing engineering principles. **Qualifications You Must Have:*** Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.* 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.* Advanced proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process documentation.* Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.* Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.* Capability working in multi-disciplinary teams.* An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required **Qualifications We Prefer:*** Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Black Belt certification.* Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing.* Background in Aerospace and Defense industry.* Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.* Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.* Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB).* Experience with new product introduction and transition to production.* Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems. **Essential Functions:*** Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.* Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
