Job summary

Job description

Do you enjoy collaborating with others to create innovative products and services? As a Manufacturing Engineer III, you will act with minimal supervision to drive the strategic implementation, driving the strategic implementation of world-class manufacturing engineering principles. You will lead the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) strategy for complex aerospace systems and direct the design and implementation of advanced tooling to achieve optimal performance, quality, and cost. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Lead cross-functional design reviews and DFM/DFA workshops to ensure product architecture is fully optimized for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of complex tooling, from initial concept and design to fabrication, validation, and implementation on the production floor.
  • Analyze and resolve complex manufacturing issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices in tooling design, process validation, and manufacturing engineering principles.
Qualifications - Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process documentation.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Capability working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Qualifications - We Prefer
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing.
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.
  • Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production.
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54.

Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
