Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II in Plymouth, MN to design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and quality.

This role includes supporting cross-functional teams, performing Process FMEAs, driving validation strategies, applying Lean concepts, and advancing manufacturing capabilities in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or any engineering/technical field.
• Minimum 2 years engineering experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse environment.
• Strong communication, multitasking and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage/support projects including new production equipment and process improvements.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Conduct Process FMEAs and validation strategies.
• Improve quality, efficiency and throughput via Lean concepts.
• Coordinate tooling design, procurement, build and debugging.
• Drive cross-functional project strategies and DFM with Product Development.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with strong collaboration.
