Job summary

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer in Austin, TX. You will develop methods, sequences and processes for fabrication of parts and assemblies, and work with engineering teams to release improvements and reduce costs.

Responsibilities include establishing time standards, tooling recommendations, testing procedures, and root-cause analyses to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2–4 years of related experience.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain all methods, operating sequences, and processes in fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
• Coordinate release of product improvements and new products with other engineering functions.
• Estimate and reduce manufacturing and/or product costs using DFx and lean principles.
• Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Develop and use test procedures and evaluate results, assess work methods and policies.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions; perform PFMEA and provide reports.
