Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in the United States to monitor and improve established manufacturing processes and equipment.

You will leverage data retrieval, analysis, and rigorous problem-solving methodologies to drive safety, cost reduction, quality, and output improvements. You will collaborate with development teams, collect product data, perform trend analysis, and propose process/equipment enhancements while ensuring documentation and training for operations on new

Qualifications

BS or higher in Chemical, Material Science or Mechanical Engineering.
1–5 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience with Excel (Pivot Tables) and Access.
Experience with various Fiber making platforms.
Experience with PI manufacturing books.
Experience with statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.).
Demonstrated project leadership.
CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

Work with development teams to maximize success of incoming manufacturing/products.
Collect data for incoming products and compare vs. metrics.
Perform trend analysis and monitor/response plans.
Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes/equipment.
Identify chronic issues and corrective actions.
Ensure accurate documentation for incoming manufacturing/products.
Create manufacturing improvement corrective action plans.
Provide inputs about equipment maintenance requirements.
Identify when engineering support is required for significant issues.
Work with production techs to drive standardization and continuous improvements.
Interface with Engineering, Facilities, IT and Development.
Train operations on new processes/products.
Provide technical documentation for experiments conducted and lessons learned.
