Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for Primary Structures. You’ll provide DFx feedback, work with design, manufacturing, and reliability teams, and help the shop floor move smoothly on Terran R builds.

You will develop work instructions, specs, and best practices across high-fidelity processes, while championing process improvements and standardizing operations to accelerate production and ensure quality on the primary structure program.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aeronautical, mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline.
• 2+ years progressive and related experience required.
• Strong history of supporting complicated assembly builds and ability to make risk decisions to keep production moving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills interfacing with engineering and manufacturing to improve manufacturability.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics of materials, process improvement, factory design, fastening and joining, machining.
• Expert knowledge of drilling and trim ops, other manufacturing processes, tools, inspection methods and GD&T.
• Nice to haves: experience with aerospace forming, welding, drill, trim and fastening ops; NPI of aerospace hardware into manufacturing systems.

Aufgaben

• Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and early prototype/builds.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability, and internal/external production teams to drive progress.
• Cover shop floor for primary structure work centers, removing barriers and keeping production moving.
• Champion process improvements across work centers to improve assembly operations.
• Create work instructions, specifications and best practices; help standardize processes.
