Job summary

Aquent is seeking an Operations Project Manager for an onsite role in Sheridan, AR. You will drive manufacturing input into new product development, build cost models, and manage plant-level deliverables across multiple functions to ensure fast, cost-effective launches.

You will lead DFMA reviews, perform FMEA inputs, and coordinate with QA, engineering, production, and supply chain to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum 2 years in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, project management or NPD engineering.
  • Knowledge of assembly, casting, forging, injection molding, stamping, finishing processes.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex projects.
  • Experience communicating across functions in written and verbal form.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Structured, organized, and able to lead a small team.
  • DFMA training or experience.
  • ProE/CREO experience is a plus.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all plant-level deliverables for Kitchen and Bath Development including PFEP and cost reductions.
  • Input manufacturing considerations into NPD projects through DFMA and FMEA.
  • Act as Project Manager for plant operations across QA, engineering, production and materials for NPI/NPD.
  • Build product cost models with NPI/Operations support to hit launch targets.
  • Provide Make-vs-Buy analysis using cash cost modeling and capacity considerations.
  • Develop plant project execution timelines with Ops Lead NPI and feed into overall project plans.
  • Ensure Inventory in Stock dates are met; support project managers with accurate communication.
  • Drive Time to Market improvements and ensure launch quality and specs.
  • Lead process improvements for NPD and manufacturing and share results.
  • Present status updates to senior leadership as needed.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Responsible for fulfilling all Operations Plant Level deliverables for the Kitchen and Bath Development Process, including fulfillment strategies, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), operations certification, cost reduction implementations, capacity evaluations, supply chain integrity, costing, REA initiation, and process development.
  • Drive Manufacturing input into NPD projects to improve design effectiveness and reliability through Design for Manufacture and assembly (DFMA), design reviews, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and regular feedback.
  • Project Manager for all plant operations functions such as quality, engineering, production, and materials, related to NPI and NPD projects. These projects include, but are not limited to, new product launches, DfX initiatives, fulfillment strategies, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), cost reduction implementations, capacity evaluations, supply chain integrity, costing, REA initiation, and process development.
  • Build product cost models, with plant NPI and Operations support, to actively manage product costs through development and meet launch targets.
  • Provide technical support for Make versus Buy analysis, utilizing cash cost modeling and consideration of Global Capacity and Asset Optimization.
  • Together with Ops Lead NPI and Operations, develop plant project execution timelines and project plans and feed back into overall timelines for projects.
  • Accountable, in coordination with Ops Lead NPI personnel, for achieving scheduled ‘Inventory in Stock’ date. Support Ops Lead NPI and Operations project managers, on all projects as assigned, to ensure complete and accurate communication of project facts.
  • Drive Time to Market Improvements. Ensure Quality and Performance Levels are met for New Product Launches (i.e. launch with no Deviations and match process capability to specifications).
  • Change Agent / Process improvement:
  • Regularly provide feedback and ideas/solutions for process improvements including the New Product Development process and manufacturing processes.
  • Regularly provide feedback and actively participate in the improvement of project management practices within the New Product Integration group.
  • Applying engineering fundamentals to problem solving & make appropriate decisions, justify risk under critical review. Develop conclusions and recommend actions.
  • Operate without need for technical supervision.
  • Liaise closely with all levels of production, manufacturing engineering, plant quality, supply chain, safety, NPD, NPI, purchasing, and marketing providing clear information where necessary. Use relationships to maintain a network to support Production Strategies.
  • Present project status and escalations to multiple levels of operations leadership including Managers/Directors/VP.
Skills/Requirements
  • B.S. degree from an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering OR engineering technology program required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, project management, or new product development engineering role.
  • Knowledge and experience of multiple manufacturing processes, including but not limited to, assembly, casting, forging, injection molding, stamping and/or finishing.
  • Must be able to independently manage multiple projects of a complex nature that are in various stages of development
  • Experience of communicating information at all levels across various functions written & verbally, concisely and accurately.
  • A tenacious, enthusiastic, results driven individual with excellent time management skills.
  • A confident user of Microsoft office software & SAP
  • Must be structured and organized, with an ability to work on their own, within a team, and lead a small team when required.
  • Trained in using DFMA techniques and software.
  • Experience in ProE/CREO is a benefit, but not required.
  • Must be skilled in conflict resolution
