Job summary

Sloan Valve Company in Franklin Park, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes for Sloan's product lines to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

You will work with CNC machining, program 2- and 3-axis equipment, implement LEAN methods, and train supervisors and operators while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or engineering field.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience with industrial engineering responsibilities.
• 5+ years CNC programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational, math, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC machining processes, setup sheets, and tool selections.
• Program 2- and 3-axis CNC equipment, writing new programs from scratch.
• Troubleshoot tolerance, program, and setup issues on the shop floor.
• Drive continuous improvement with LEAN techniques and cost metrics.
• Define manufacturing requirements for machinery, tooling, and routings.
• Train supervisors and operators on new processes and products.

About the role:

We have an opeing for a Manufacturing Engineer II based in our Franklin Park, IL manufacturing facility and headquarters. In this role you will develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes to manufacture Sloan's product lines economically and efficiently.

What you will do:

• Develop the entire CNC machining processes for parts: including the creation of setup sheets, tool preset drawings, tool holder selection, cutting tool selection
• Program 2 & 3 Axis CNC Equipment. Write new programs from scratch to produce new parts to print
• Troubleshoot CNC Machining tolerance issues, program issues, setup issues, and other manufacturing quality related issue with setup and operators on the manufacturing floor.
• Responsible for continuous process improvement tracked by quality yields and standard labor costs.
• Analyze, review and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using LEAN manufacturing techniques
• Determine and establish overall manufacturing engineering requirements for items such as, but not limited, to machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods and processes, and routings
• Prepare routings, process sheets, work instructions, and process drawings as required and establish feeds, speeds, cycle times and other operating parameters for all types of equipment
• Train supervisors, group leaders and operators in any new processes or products.
• Identify and mitigate safety hazards throughout the facility

What you will need:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ Years Manufacturing experience
• 5+ Years Manufacturing/industrial engineering
• 5+ Years CNC Programming & Troubleshooting Skills
• Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to trouble shoot problems with production process parts, and equipment
• Critical thinking and analytical proficiency.
• Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
• The ability to collaborate with co-workers, production personnel, and outside vendors

Compensation:

The compensation range for this U.S.-based position is $97,000 - $113,000 annually.

This position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. The terms and conditions of the company incentive plan will be provided to plan participants on an annual basis.

Our compensation range reflects our good faith estimate of what an ideal candidate can expect, but final agreed-upon compensation will always be based on the individual candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related or market factors that may prove relevant during the hiring process.
