Job summary

Jabil in Florence, Kentucky is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to introduce and optimize new computer device manufacturing processes for a high-profile U.S. customer.

You will specify equipment and tooling to produce servers and server racks and coordinate line balancing to meet evolving output goals. The role requires collaborating with the automation team to install automated inspection devices, drive process improvements, and perform cost-reduction analyses.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in lean manufacturing with line balancing and server manufacturing.
• Experience with factory shop floor systems and MS Office.
• Proficiency in Minitab, Agile, and DMAIC methodologies.
• PFMEA, AQP, DFM and DFA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Introduce a new computer device manufacturing process for a unique customer in the U.S.
• Provide equipment and tooling to produce servers and server racks.
• Perform line balancing to adapt output goals and plan ramp-up for NPIs.
• Support automation to reduce workmanship issues with automated inspection devices and tooling.
• Identify process improvements and perform cost-reduction analysis.
• Assess incoming materials by analyzing failure modes and supply failure testing data.
• Develop safety processes to minimize hazards in the area.
• Create process flow for parts needed to assemble servers.

(Florence, Kentucky). Introduce new computer device manufacturing process for a unique customer in U.S. Provide the equipment and tools required to produce computer devices such as servers and server racks. Perform line balance to accommodate constant change of the output goals and develop the ramp up plan for all NPI (New Product Introduction). Support the automation team to minimize workmanship issues by adding automated inspection devices and automated tooling to accomplish quality goals. Develop process improvements and perform cost reduction analysis to improve the cost of the manufacturing process. Develop the material suppliers by analyzing the failure mode of the incoming defective material and provide the failure test information. Develop safety processes to minimize the risk of accidents for the entire area.
